Peer Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to the Management and Education Journal undergoes a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure its academic quality, validity, and significance. The journal employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system, meaning that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process.
The detailed stages of our peer-review process are outlined below:
- Initial Editorial Desk Review
Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief or Section Editors will conduct an initial screening of the manuscript. At this stage, the evaluation focuses on:
- Scope alignment with the journal's focus (Management and Educational Management).
- Compliance with the Author Guidelines and template formatting.
- Plagiarism screening utilizing Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate/Turnitin), where the maximum tolerated similarity index is 20%.
Manuscripts that do not meet these basic requirements will be rejected immediately (Desk Rejection) or returned to the author for revision before being sent to reviewers.
- Assignment of Peer Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent peer reviewers who are experts in the relevant research field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic track record, and absence of conflicts of interest.
- Reviewer Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript objectively and provide constructive feedback based on the following criteria:
- Originality, novelty, and contribution to the field of management and education.
- Clarity and relevance of the research objectives and methodology.
- Riggor and soundness of data analysis and discussion.
- Accuracy and currency of literature citations (preferring high-impact journal references from the last 5 to 10 years).
- Clarity of structure, language quality, and writing flow.
- Editorial Decision
Based on the detailed reports and recommendations provided by the peer reviewers, the Section Editor makes a recommendation, and the Editor-in-Chief takes the final decision. The editorial options include:
- Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication without any further changes.
- Minor Revisions Required: The manuscript is accepted conceptually, but authors must address minor specific feedback within a designated timeframe.
- Major Revisions Required: The manuscript requires significant rewriting, restructuring, or additional data/analysis. The revised version will undergo a second round of review by the original reviewers.
- Decline Submission (Reject): The manuscript contains fundamental flaws, lacks novelty, or fails to address critical reviewer concerns, making it unsuitable for publication.
- Final Copyediting and Publication
Once a manuscript is accepted, it enters the production stage. It undergoes professional copyediting, proofreading, layout formatting, and DOI assignment before being permanently published online in the upcoming issue.
